graduation!

Some piccas from the graduation ceremony on Monday.

with papa and momma

hello, my best ally at CX.

"where's Andre?" Haha I had such a good laugh reminiscing
with Jia En (middle). We had so much fun in the kitchen, digging at each other
and discussing about desperate housewives and
project runway and ANTM during classes.

She's a chef now??! I can't believe she's the same girl who hated
Indian spices so much. She made me make the funny-tasting Mexican chicken
during culinary lessons, because she thinks Turmeric will make her
hands rot. =)

She's tossing salads at Flutes now. =)

Thanks for coming Ben & Judy!

momma asks for Judy's beauty secrets

Surprisingly, I don't feel as tired as I was last week, and tomorrow is Friday! Work has been fine..I'm generally happy there, except I'm not labelled as a "team-ist" (as in racist) because I refused to share a tub of ice cream with them. We were feeling yesterday, so I suggested cones (everyone can pick their favourite flavour also mah...) The tub of ice cream was to be shared between the 3 divas and myself, and the tub would be passed around according to seniority (!!). So..by the time it reaches me, it would have a) been licked clean b) melted and looked disgusting.

On a happier note, bran met me for lunch yesterday and we had 2 pasta, 1 video tape-size pizza and 3 anti-pasti dishes at the italian joint below my office. And we finished everything up. Well done!

Sunday, May 20, 2007

I haven't been getting any rest these few days, and the angst and frustration is getting into me. I haven't seen bran for ages too. I ought to be spending more time with him before we get separated for the longest time. Bran dropped by on Friday night, but I fell asleep within 15 minutes after he came, and he had to leave early the next morning. boohoo.

harvest moon addict

I finally caught Phantom of the Opera with the boyfriend after procrastinating for 2 months. We paid slightly more than $145 each for two Level 3 front row seats. I enjoyed the show very much, all the time holding bran's hands.

Finally met up with Christine after 3 months, for barely one hour. I have no discipline at all, =P sorry my friend. Glad to see you again!

Sunday is well-spent. 12 hours sleep, cleaned hamster cages, revision and mother's day dinner.

Some piccas from birthday celebrations in the office.

a very sleepy tung

Waking up is really the hardest thing to do these days.. Classes 3 times a week, work, spending time with bran, and playing harvest moon on DS till 3am =).

Bran fell ill last week. He looked like a poor puppy when he slept. I went to bran's after class on Saturday and we lazed on the couch, watched Kill Bill while I played harvest moon again. =)

We finally visited Night Safari on Sunday. Papa managed to get us complimentary passes because his company adopted the flamingos (of all animals / birds...).

Ever since I started working, my bank account has been in a worse state than before I joined CX. It's bad, because I don't feel the pinch when I spend now. And every time I go to Hong Kong I will exhaust about $800 even if I only have one day for shopping. How ah?

Bellini Room

I've just returned from St James. We had an unofficial Marketing & Sales outing at Bellini Room where Runi's brother-in-law's band is playing. Runi is so happening these days, she's over 50, listens to Justin Timberlake, and planned this outing. The place was not too bad except there's a serious lack of seats. They play jazz music there, the lead singer is pretty good. We requested he sang a birthday song for Runi and he totally swept us off our feets. But the company was the main reason I enjoyed myself. There were tasha, elaine, chris toh, runi, ben, jenny, agnes, rai, sue from American Airlines and JUDY! Surprise!

Something really saddens me.. There's nothing I can do here,
I can only hope for the best..

of batam trip and elaine's birthday

Left for Batam after work two Fridays ago with the SPA-kies, and I slept my whole trip away.. I initiated the mahjong marathon since I wasn't going for spa, and I had to leave early the next day to get to school on time on Saturday. So to make my money's worth, I have to play mahjong the whole night. But I was the first one to fall asleep without playing a single round of mahjong. I wasn't even aware everyone came to my room after their spa session. boohoohoo

Happy 22nd Birthday Elaine Tan! To hooters for dinner on Thursday, then to St James. Tasha, Sherril and Elaine danced the night away, while Daniel, Boon and I sat at the couch to people-watch, and thought of how to survive the next working day. Tasha and Elaine had the Friday off, Sherril is born to party (I almost typed "porn"). I'm so boring eh? I prefer to stay home, watch tv and watch bran sleep.

Bran is due for Tekong on 15 June. What will happen to bran.. What am I do to.. I'm going to miss him very very much..

On a lighter note, I got myself a VAIO TX-57 2 weeks ago. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it (which coincidentally was the day it was released), and bran has been nudging me to get it since February. Happy.

Hodiwei bought a Nintendo DS Lite too. We were too addicted to dilun's DS. I was so absorbed into wario ware that I missed my stop on my way to bran's cousin's baby's first birthday party.

On Friday, the lionhead escaped and decided to hide under the water tank on the roof. My mom searched for it for half an hour before deciding to call me at work, and I can't do anything! What's worse I'll be leaving for Batam with the SPA-kies that very night. If the bunny was not found by afternoon, I didn't think I would want to go to Batam. I told my mom to wake bran up (who was still sleeping soundly at my place), since the rabbits seemed to have better affinity with bran. They found it under the water tank but it was impossible to reach for it unless you crawl under it. Momma tried to lure it out with some food but it just wouldn't move. So bran went under the water tank and crawled on the dirt and grime to get the stupid rabbit out. I was so afraid bran will be scalded by the hot water pipes. What will I do without him..

This is the second time the lionhead has tried something stupid, after jumping into the 1m high pail filled to the brim with rainwater and tried to drown itself.
My heart sank when I saw it in the pail, I thought it had drowned. I didn't know how long it had been inside because by the time my mom and I found it, it had stopped struggling; floating around with only its nose above the water. I carried it out immediately, wrapped it in towels and hugged it tightly.

A long week ahead, can't wait for 1 May!

Hong Kong, 2

2 weeks ago, we celebrated Helen's birthday. She's a helluva fun, that crazy momma. She's full of dirty jokes and exaggerated expressions. Our day ended with another mahjong + pizza session. This time, we managed to play 5 rounds in one and a half hours. We're getting addicted to it. I asked bran to join us and he asked if he could say "I'm here to play mahjong," to the guards.

Helen with the routine cake from Cedele.
I had a picture that we really like (it's a candid shot of Helen "ripping off" her clothes),
but she will kill me if I post it up =P

I'm back from my first duty travel. Lucky me! I really enjoyed the training and I have never felt so confident about performing at work before. Tash was due for another course in the same period so we left for HKG on Sunday morning. It was my first ride on Business Class and I truly enjoyed the ride. Natasha was a great traveling companion and I'm not sure if we'll ever have the chance to travel together again. And..Cathay City is way cool! It has everything. Headland is just beside Cathay City so you can wake up half an hour before class and still get to class on time. We were transferred to Novotel on Monday, and it's good too, because it's just beside Citygate outlets and right above the MTR station =). But shopping was excessive. We spent way more than we had expected to, since both of us were in HKG in early March. She brought me to her favourite places and I brought her to my favourite haunts and we bought too much.

Novotel is cheeky. You can slide the door open and
watch the person in the bathroom bathe..

..or do his business

Tash came back on Tuesday and I felt so lonely that night! There was no one to talk to..bran is so sweet to call and text me every night. But on one particular night, bran rang when both Tash and I were in deep slumber. Both of us woke up, looked at each other, frowned and wondered where the noise was coming from.

I met Ben and Daniel at HKIA, they were on their way back from Macau where a PR conference was held. Our flight departed at 2000 and I could see fireworks below us when we were in the air! It's not engine problem lah..it's the fireworks which Disneyland displays every night at 8pm. =)

with tash =)

Now that I've experienced flying on business class and staying at shangri-la, I'm afraid I won't be able to accept anything less. It's addictive..oh no..

Many times, people ask me what my job entails. When I don't feel like explaining it all over again, I just accept whatever they think I do. I do get strange job descriptions like "you sell your company away", "you sell travel agents (???)", or weisong will simply summarise into "you sell aeroplanes".

little lion and bunny

It's getting busy at work!

Daniel said, "Work can never be finished." so with that I left for home.

Lunched at NadaMan at Shangri-La =).

Oh, the little lion's ears are lopping so..it's a lionlop now? It eats and eats and eats, every time I look for it, it's eating. But it's still quite skinny

lion-lop, it's about to eat again

mahjong

After CX's Recreation Club AGM last evening, Daniel eagerly taught tasha, nelly, elaine, sherril and myself mahjong. It was tasha, nelly and my first time playing it. Stephen and mahjong guru Helen joined us to give us tips. We spent one a half hours playing 3 games, which is extremely slow! And we're not even at the powerful combi stage.

Tash and I played as a team since she can't read the chinese characters, but she's doing well =). She likes to shout "pong!" though, and Stephen said, "you wish!" several times because she "pong!" unnecessarily. Hahaha

Tash and I won 2 out of 3 games and one win was a zi mo peng hu which was apparently quite a big win, but there was no money involved. We only left at about 10.30pm.

Bran said, "Now I know why
there's always people in the offices of shenton way late at night...they're all playing mahjong"

tomorrow

When tomorrow comes, my life will change forever.

Bunny seems better last night. It was hopping around slowly, playing with the little lion. She allowed me to stroke her today but still did not allow me to carry her. And the little lion is still too small to hug! Not nice to hug!

Bran slept his Sunday away. He only saw one hour of light today. tsk tsk..

of BRAN-ded bags

Bran told me a small patch of hair was shaved away on the underside of the rabbit and a "Y" incision was made on the girl. ouch ouch! Bunny wouldn't even let anyone near her. She didn't do a binky today and I can understand why. When my dad tried to stroke her she bit my dad real hard. Bunny simply stretched out her neck and that sent the little lion fleeing. The vet has warned us that the rabbits may be aggressive because they may be in pain. She allowed me to stroke her but I had to do it very slowly. Poor bunny..

A whole day of shopping with bran today. From long long ago, bran always said that it's every woman's dream to own a branded bag. Probably about 2 years ago, I told bran that I like Gucci bags. When I came back from Hong Kong, I told him that I want the classic 'princy' medium boston bag. He didn't understand why I'm in love with it. He insisted I'm in love with the idea of Gucci and not the bag. Today we entered the boutique and I showed him the bag.

Bran: It looks normal what...
Tung: -slings bag on shoulder-
Bran: -thumbs up-

Bran: When I saw the bag, I thought nothing of it. When you carried it I thought it looked grreeaaat!
Tung: =)
Bran: So do you feel more beautiful carrying that bag?
Tung: I feel like a goddess.

That particular bag is $1400. aiyaiyai..hopefully the all-wonder airline pass will get me some discounts at the boutique at the airport.

I also told bran, I'm afraid I'll be addicted to branded goods. He agreed with me too. Once I start I won't be able to accept anything less. And there will only be upgrades from then on. Oh no..

A Visit to the Vet

Bran and I brought our bunnies for a long overdue appointment with the vet today and bunny was so annoyed by the bumpy cab ride it ignored me the whole day.

The moment bunny entered the consultation room the vet commented, "Quite fat." How rude! She is a girl afterall! I hope the vet was talking about the rabbit and not the owner. Bunny weighs 1.4kg, Bran's boyboy weighs 1.4kg too but it looks so much thinner. Probably because he has a higher bone density. The mother lop weighs 1.8kg! Because it was pregnant again..We were left with choices to go ahead with the neutering or find new homes for the babies. We chose to neuter it, if not the mother lop will risk getting cancer. At least it can start receiving nutrients now, she has been so skinny after giving birth.

We left the vet at about 2pm and collected them at 8pm. I wonder what is going through the minds of the bunnies. Bran was afraid they would die during the op, heeheehee. I am afraid to see the wound open, I'd rather not look at the underside of the bunnies now but the vet has instructed us to check on the wounds twice a day. oh man..

Bunny seems to have lost appetite...she needs to lose weight anyway.

I was chatting casually with bran on our way to the MRT station and I asked:
tung: sales job glam or not?
bran: depends on what kind of sales mah..
... ...
bran: driver glam or not?
tung: depends on what kind of driver mah..
bran: bus driver glam or not?
tung: no
bran: airbus driver glam or not?
tung: yes, heehee

and bran says that I'm a deserter for joining CX, and I said NooOoo! I'm not betraying anyone! I'm not even Singaporean to begin with. Then he called me a pariah (!!!) because I'm not a true Malaysian either. ahhHhhhh!!!!!!!

I told him I won't treat him to dinner anymore because I'm on CX's payroll. And he said I will have to retire on my own because if he retires from RSAF, the natural path would be to join SQ and he's not going to share his retirement fund with me!

hahaha I had such a good laugh

Speaking of which, I hope bran's medical report will turn out fine. They have sent his blood for further tests and it's been one and a half months.

Letters from Iwo Jima

I caught my first movie in 7 months with the boyfriend. Letters from Iwo Jima was gruesome! How can anyone keep a straight face while watching how the Japanese soldiers kill themself in the name of loyalty and honour. aiyoh..

They will explode themselves with grenades, shoot themselves with pistols, order subordinates to chop off their heads yadda yadda..aiyoyo..

Half the time I shutted my eyes and stuffed fingers into my ears and I couldn't recognise who is who because they all looked the same. But it's a good show, the plot is good but it's lurid (one soldier got bombed and his arm was detached and they showed blood spurting out of what's left of his arm). If you can accept such mess, then good for you. Go watch! Go watch! It's an award-winning show but why is it only shown at gwc, vivo and plaza eh?

The little lionhead is so sweet. When bran took a nap, the lionhead extended its hind legs, leaned on bran and relaxed as well. aww..

What your bathroom habits say about you

What Your Bathroom Habits Say About You

You are very independent and self-centered (sad to say but it's true). You don't solve other people's problems - and you don't expect them to solve yours.

You spend a lot on clothes, and you tend to be a very dresser. However, it's hard for you to throw away trendy clothes when they go out of style.

You are a very outgoing person. You are true to yourself, and you never hold back.

In relationships, you tend to take care of your needs first. You can only be with someone who's as independent as you are. (This is absolutely correct)
What Do Your Bathroom Habits Say About You?

Bran thinks that it this is a pretty accurate description of me. What do you think?

Frustrated during exams?

I'm back

Hullo, I returned from Hong Kong yesterday afternoon and I truly had a wonderful time there.

Piccas later, after I've received the "complete collection" from boon and ben.

I miss watching teevee in the toilet of Shangri-La, really. I think it's a good idea. Weili and I would stop washing our faces to watch what's on tv.

Dilun accompanied me to the airport on Friday and both morning flights were so full but Boon managed to get onto the second flight at the last minute and Weili and I were protected on the third flight to Hong Kong after waiting at the airport for about 5 hours.

what were you doing!!

Bran picked me up from the airport and he got me a pair of Dior shades. Gosh, it costs more than $400! He got me a big swarovski pandent when I returned from China last year. Is he going to get me something everytime I go abroad? Then he'll be in the red soon because I'm returning to Hong Kong again at the end of March and in October. heehee..

Welcome to Singapore!

Dilun arrived in Singapore on Saturday evening. Welcome to Singapore! It's been so long!

My family hosted a dinner on Sunday and my mom prepared a feast for 15 peeps. It was a family gathering for the Hos and some Wongs in Singapore. I had a great time that night.

Bran's mother says that everything happens in multiples of three. For instance, if you meet someone on the streets, you're likely to meet another 2 more, or 5 more, or 8 more etc. I met 7 friends in Ngee Ann City alone and 1 more at Vivocity yesterday. I was expecting to meet one more but I didn't. Oh..this is quite random but nevermind.

I visited Bran's uncle at Mount E. yesterday and I met bran's nephew, Nathan (pronounced nay-than [like turn], not Nathan as in S R Nathan), for the first time. He warms up to strangers very fast and he hugged me even though he barely knew me for 10 minutes (Nani nani poo poo! He didn't hug bran). At one point, he held bran and my hands, looked up at us and asked "Are both of you married?"

make-up v. day

This year's Valentine's Day was spent with papa, mama, hdw, xueling and bran. bran and i had already planned for dinner but hdw wants a bbq and only informed us on the night before. bad. so being a good sister and daughter (because hdw doesn't do any chores, including washing the dishes, and that means papa has to do it alone if I'm not around), so bran accommodated me and joined us for the bbq.

So today, bran and I had a make-up V. Day! No flowers or chocs, just being in each other's company. We spent over $80 on 8 types of ham, smoked salmon, black olives and 2 ribeye steaks, made dinner and had dinner with bran's daddy. oh! and I saw bran cycling furiously on the road from the LRT. Such a coincidence. bran brought his super telescope and we went down to the field to look at Venus and the moon, and tried to figure out what was the sentence that we were taught in primary school to make us remember the nine planets. Bran could name all the planets without any help but I struggled to even think of any planet that starts with the letter E before bran helpfully told me I'm standing on one.

Was it:
My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas?

Now that Pluto is demoted, bran readily provided me with another sentence to remember the 8 planets:
My Very Educated Mother Just Stood Up Naked
So easy to remember.

Okay the baby bunnies are so adorable! 3 lop ears and 3 lion heads, just like the mom and dad. and I brought a lion head home! mama is going to go berserk when she sees it tomorrow morning but bunny needs a companion.

mum and ham

In case you were wondering if my mom has found out about the new hammy; yes she has, because I couldn't resist it. =)

On the morning after...

Tung: Eh mama! Why got a white hamster [in the male's cage]! You put wrongly is it?

(Before I bought the new hammy, we only had one albino and it's a female)
Mama: (looked at the cage and was shocked when she saw a "white thing" each in both cages)

(short pause)

Mama: Don't bluff, it's a piece of
bread
Tung: (picked up the piece of bread) But it can move!!
Mama: (shocked)

Then I burst out laughing and she knew it immediately. Hahaha

of NAPFA

I reached home at 1 on Saturday, slept for barely 3 hours and had to wake up at 5 to reach school in time for NAPFA. Why in the world do we need to take the test!!! I think it is totally unnecessary. In the first place, we were not given PE lessons to train for them. BUT! The good news is, you just have to participate to graduate, you don't have to pass any of the stations at all =).

So off I went to meet Christine, it's great to see you again!

I practically failed all the tests, but I still pass NAPFA, for just being there and making a fool out of myself. =). Weili, Sylvie and I took 25mins to walk 2.4km, which in my opinion, is very good already. I thought we needed at least half an hour. Christine and I lay on the mat laughing for the rest of the minute after doing 15 sit-ups. Hahaha that was so silly. I can't remember much about the rest but I know I felt all sticky and tired after 5 hours at the Sports Complex.

[edit] visit christine ng's blog for the pictures of her looking as pretty as ever, and me looking very pathetic on that day

Okay, some photos for you peeps.

Of Library Visit

Oh, I visited the Lee Kong Chian Reference Library to do some research for my research paper today. Prior to that, I visited NLB's website and took down the call numbers of the books I was going to refer to. blah blah blah..so off I went to the library. The reference library comprises of 7 storeys if I am not wrong. I was looking for the books that will explain to me about the airline business, in fact one of the books I was looking for was entitled, The Airline Business. doh

So naturally I went to level 8 because the sign states that books related to BUSINESS are on that level. I went to the shelf corresponding to the call numbers and saw some books related to airlines, but none of the books I wanted were there! Could someone be using them at that time? I walked around the floor to see who was holding on the books, but there was none!

I thought I would give the person some time, it was close to 6pm and s/he should be leaving for dinner soon =). So I went to the B1 to borrow some fiction and went back to Level 8 half an hour later. But, the books were still not in sight! I wanted to give up my search for the day and return in the morning some other day, if I am the first person in the library, I would definitely get hold of the books. But before I left, I went to the information counter and she told me I was on the wrong floor! The books are on Level 7!

But the sign states Social Sciences and Humanities, Science and Technology on Level 7!

$(#*&!^#!*&#)($*($#*)*&*$#%&)

How would I possibly know that the "R" in front of the call number means that it's on Level 7?!! She made it sound like it's common sense. Or is it? Aiya, but she was very helpful also, so don't get me wrong, I was not frustrated with her. Luckily I checked with her if not I would have to make another futile trip again.

Ok, enjoy the video below! The animals are so adorable!

nothing much

Hello! I have completed The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time. Reading the particular book is so stressful because Dilun has kept it in such pristine condition and there are no dog ears or crack down the spine of the book. I am so relieved I am done with that book. Recommended read. Thanks Dilun!

I am so excited about CNY!

I will only have to go back to TP to hand up the research paper next Thursday, and go back for a 15 mins interview on the Wednesday after next and I'm done with poly (hopefully)!
