heartbroken
Papa woke me up frantically at 5am and once I grasped what was happening, I held her and said, "Ho Diwei is coming back in 2 days. Aren't you going to watch me get married?" Last week when I was walking along the corridor in school, I suddenly realised she's not going to be at my graduation either.
I love her so much. She took good care of the family and always made sure there was food on the table when we're home. Every morning I would go to her room to greet her, and remind her to eat and rest well before I was off to work. Out of habit I would still walk to her room in the morning, and would be heartbroken when I realised that she's not there anymore.
I can't accept that momma has left us so early. It pains me knowing she won't have the chance to hold her grandchild nor travel the world with dad.
So many thoughts running through my head now. Was she proud of me? Will I be able to take care of my family without her guidance?
I miss her so much

p. II
The long drive home after sending bran back, is always agonising. Especially today, since bran won't be coming back this coming weekend. What made it worse was when his song "always be my baby" was played on the radio. sigh..
bye hodiwei.. hello bran!!
every weekend i'll return it to him so he can have a good night's sleep.
i had a very busy, but fulfilling saturday.
to the airport to send diwei off
to pasir ris to pick bran up
to bedok to pick up a laptop
to ecp to makan
to bran's place
to bicycle shop at bukit timah
to book store at clementi
back home to deliver dinner to my mom
then to kallang to pick hodiyang up..
to go for eason chan's concert!
we had complimentary vvip seats, which i won in an internal lucky draw so it's fair and square hoh. diyang and i were seated 4 rows from the front. we had very good seats and we could see very detail on his outrageous costumes and his facial expressions and antics. we enjoyed ourselves very much even though i only knew one song.
bran went cycling in the meantime and we went to lagoon again, this time for supper. by the time we finished the lala, stingray, oyster omelet and satay, it was already 1+am. goodness. we've been awake since 5.30am! bran was very tired so i took the wheels this time and diyang made alot of noise while i drove to make sure i stay awake. i think you were very distracting ho diyang! by the time we reached home it was already past 2am.
dead beat? yes.
fun? you bet!

bran
b: -takes out bottle of water-
"you want water?"
t: "noo.."
.
.
.
t: -scratches chin and flakes of skin fall onto my lap-
"the skin on my chin is so dry"
b: -lace his finger with water from the bottle and daps it on my chin-
Heehee! He's so adorable! It puts a smile on my face everytime I think about it.
We had the car on Saturday night so bran and I went for a spin after dinner. He drove me to 2 places - "one high, one low". Nono, not the high-low game our dept always plays. First stop was up the steep road to Mount Faber. That's where he always cycles to. It was breezy and nice and I tried to be romantic and asked "do you think we can cycle up here together one day?" bran, being the usual unromantic prosaic lover he is, turned me down flatly. -_- He said as a matter-of-factly, even he struggles to get to the top of Mt. Faber, I will definitely roll down the slopes midway.
okies..
We drove a short distance to Labrador Park. There's a nice place by the waters and I don't know why the area was so crowded at 10.30pm on a Saturday night. That's another place he cycles to with his cycling buddies. Time spent with Bran was short but I had a good time as usual =)

diyang's 20th birthday
Diyang's birthday on Tuesday.
We wanted to give diyang a surprise. I had to coordinate with ho diwei via sms even when we're at home! The plan was to spring the surprise on him when he comes out from the bathroom. When we heard the bathroom door click, we brought the cake out and waited.. and waited.. and waited. You take a long time to bathe, you know! I sat patiently outside the door of the bathroom for at least 20 mins. I shouted SURPRISE! and sprayed crazy ribbons all over diyang when he came out. hahahahaha!!!! he just collapsed onto the floor, spread eagle style and laughed nonstop! all 180cm of him. hahahahaha!!

3rd weekend with bran
It was a carefree weekend with bran. I woke up really early to be at Pasir Ris in time to pick bran up. We bought Carl's Jr on the way back, and lazed around at my place before we went to town at 8pm. He wanted to pick a birthday present for me, but there's really nothing I want now more than his time and company. We left with nothing except another skirt and top which I grabbed within 5 mins of entering the shop (see I'm getting so good at this!), but I'm still happy. It's been a while since we hit the town together. Bran left to meet his platoon mate for a drink and spent the night at my place. I don't understand why they still want to meet after seeing each other the entire week..
We woke up at 9-ish this morning and went out for breakfast. When we stepped out of the house, bran just stared at the view which presented before bran's eyes and said, "After all these years, I've never seen this view before... because I never woke up so early before." Glad you realised bran!

I'm a sophomore!
I'm so bored. School reopens today. My special project has to come to a halt for the time being. The only consolation is it takes my mind off missing bran.

it's a beautiful day
I woke up very early, got ready and left the house by 9.20am to pick bran up who's taking the 9.45am ferry from tekong. I dropped diyang at tp and found my way to white sands without getting lost in the east for the first time (whey hey! I think I'm getting better at this). Some sabo-king decided to leave his ic behind so bran's platoon had to wait for him to take the ferry back and forth before they could leave the ferry terminal.
Bran and his friends had KFC. I don't understand why they still crave for chicken when they have chicken everyday. Chicken wings for lunch, chicken thighs for dinner. We reached bran's place at noon, and took a nap while it rained outside. =)
Christine is very, very kind to give me 2 tickets to yesterday's ndp preview. Thank you very very much! It's almost becoming a tradition for bran and I to catch the preview every year. We have stopped trying to get the tickets to the actual parade.
The flypast and aerial display were magnificent as usual!
We gave our funpacks away to little kids who were could not enter and were standing near the barricades. I am so glad because the kids looked so happy upon receiving those funpacks.. before I realised I gave my umbrella away as well! damn... I hope the mother of the kids think that cx is a sponsor and the umbrella is the best item in the funpack.
We had ice-cream, caught up with each other and did a little shopping. I think I'm getting better at shopping too! I just walked in with bran, grabbed the items I like and left. I no longer walk 3 rounds in the shop, and go home and brood over a dress I did not get. Bran told me about his experience with a friend. A bunch of them were going on a cruise and xx's slippers snapped. So bran accompanied her to get a pair of slippers at HabourFront while the whole group waited for them at the Cruise Centre. xx walked into 3 shops and evaluated every single pair of shoes. How ridiculous! In times of emergency like this, you would have bought anything which fitted you. Anyway, the bottom line is, I think I'm getting better at shopping with bran! =)
We intended to have another round of good juicy steaks but bran suddenly craved for hor fun after getting a whiff of zhi char smell at suntec. So we zipped to boon tong kee at Balestier at 10pm.
We were dead beat by 11pm but I'm very happy, because I spent precious time with Bran.

I had planned our activities on Friday night way before he checked into Tekong. Circumstances kept popping up, bran keeps changing his appetites, and his mom wanted to join us for dinner on Friday (!!). I can't possibly reject her, right? She's the last person I want to have a feud with.
I had planned for a good dinner at Wasabi Bistro, but on Tuesday night, Bran said he didn't feel like having sushi.. and he would like some steak.. okay.. so I engaged the help of tash, elaine and huiee to think of a good steak place. criteria: reasonably priced, good food, lomantic, with parking lots available on a Friday night. In the end I settled for outback since there's no place we can think of which fits into all these criteria. I enjoyed myself very much on Friday =)
Sleep in on Saturday, then to sushi tei for a hearty dose of sashimi. -20% in Bran's birthday month. We dropped in at the chalet for a while before rushing down to esplanade to watch the fly past. M&S BBQ in the evening followed by many rounds of high-low. The stakes were smaller since there were 3 kids playing too. The stakes went up to as high as $30 at our last game at Ben's place!
Sunday..ah.. Happy Birthday Bran. We had an early dinner with his extended family at T3 before sending him off.
I'm now paying for the fun I had =(

Happy Day!
This morning, Judy walked to my desk and asked if I'll be free on 26 August. To which I exclaimed, "It's my birthday!".
Judy: Oh! It slipped my mind, Mandarin Oriental Roadshow, we have a table there.
Tung: Table! (For a moment I thought she meant we booked a table for dinner). Oh..you meant booth.. (I thought I could have dinner with my family lehh..)
Judy: It's ok, we'll still celebrate for you..
In the meantime, Michelle walks in waving a bouquet of flowers in the air.. "Flowers!!!"
I received the flowers and the card read "Poor sweety". Everything pieced together now! No wonder Bran asked for my office address. It turned out that Bran had ordered the flowers to cheer me up. aww...thank you Bran =) It's a very pretty bouquet of 12 pink roses.. trigger happy! He really made my day
Everyone could not believe it was from Bran since he's still in camp. Judy insisted MO could read our minds and had sent a bouquet to compensate for making me work on my bday.
I can't wait for the glorious weekends! Some piccas taken with Dilun's ibook
Farewell dinner with Huiee, Elaine and Tasha yesterday.
haha this picture is so cute
huiee's eye candy. His complexion is so fair and smooth that he'll put us ladies to shame
Uncle also wanted a strawberry from us..

food trip
On Wednesday, I embarked on a long overdue trip to Ipoh..alone. Thanks to Diyang for waiting patiently at the bus terminus from 5am. Throughout the journey I was afraid I would miss the stop and end up somewhere else, because momma reminded me to alight at Ipoh, not another place called "gam poh". But luckily Diyang called to assure me that Ipoh is the last stop and he was already there.
Thursday, we had hakka mee for brunch and had a very big packet of coconut juice each. When I poured the contents out it could fill a big bowl, and the bowl I used was the kind you would serve soup with! Dilun also came back from KL yays! Then it was Korean for dinner.
On Friday, Dilun Diyang and myself had dim sum for breakfast. One of them would drive while the other two played Mario Karts. Nintendo DS Lite is damn cool. We can play multiplayer games on our own consoles as long as one player has the game. We caught "Get Smart" in the afternoon. That was my first movie after Harry Potter... Then we had the most fantastic, long awaited roadside dinner! The char kway teow is out of the world, ask Brandon, he can vouch for that.
Saturday.. ahh.. I had two bowls of "gai see hor fun" for breakfast. I continued with my DVD marathon before we drove to the other side of Meru Valley and played at the waterfall.
- xxyang, 21 June 08
He meant fluttering. These were the exact words which came out of his mouth!
The three of us went crazy playing Mario Party. Diyang keeps winning! We don't understand how he can still blow at the mic while laughing. We were supposed to blow into the mic to blow out the candles in the game. Dilun had already fell off his chair and I was already laying on my side but Diyang could still continue blowing! Hahaha! Of course he won. Wished it lasted longer..and wished Diyan or Diwei was here so we didn't have to play with the computer. It can be very slow at times and how do you communicate with the computer in team games??
Many thanks to Dilun & Diyang for driving us around while I go on my food escapade and look for pomelos and biscuits. =)

Lucky win
It turned out that Huiee, who has been using my ID to log on to our intranet, has entered the quiz without my knowledge. I offered her the prize but she has declined it. =)
Need to:
- Get the complimentary stay extended to end September so Bran can come along =).
He has always wanted to go to Shanghai. I should have nominated Bran as my companion instead of my brother. My brother is not using my benefits at all! Then Bran would be able to fly Business with me, and he won't be so grumpy when they gave me a Business Class seat while he took Economy. It's not that I didn't want to sit with him but the flight was full and I really didn't want to confuse those ladies at the counter lest they decide that I'm too troublesome and offload me.
- Apply for visas to China, NOW! I heard they require 2 months to process the application. But I need to get Bran's passport, which is in one of the pockets of his jacket, which is somewhere in his terribly messy room.
- Confirm that Bran can leave the country after his BMT
- Thank Huiee again =)

Liberation!!!!!
- went on two weeks leave due to exams
- went on first date with bran after 5 months last Friday
- Aunty Nancy's birthday party on Saturday. Karaoke till 1am.. -_-...
- Hashim's wedding on Sunday! It was the first Malay wedding I attended.
Today morning, Pat saw a note on the sales & marketing intrasite about the free rooms Regal chain of hotels in HKG is offering to CX outport staffs! I bet the administrator had just post it up and good old Pat went into the site at the right time. This is the second year they are offering this. Even before Ben could forward the email to us, everyone has already grabbed their own free rooms. Haha!
So.. Bran is going to HKG with me this Saturday! I'm supposed to be there from Monday..so I'm going there earlier to have a good time with bran =). I was kinda disappointed we won't be able to go to Australia when I knew bran was enlisting into NS soon. I'm trigger happy now! I've always wanted to show bran around HKG, and we planned and finalised this trip in 2 hours. whee! And I'm so glad we're taking the new cabin product. Now I have to decide between pampering myself in business class, or accompanying bran in economy.. I've not tried the new economy though..maybe I will this time.

business class was full (again!) on the return trip. well well..please don't mistaken, economy class is good too..at least we didn't have to feel so embarrassed for having popeye's & krispy kreme on board.
good night!

@#(**@$&%*%#(!&@)(@#&(^$#t
I have been really bitchy busy the whole week at work and preparation of exams. It's going to be another draining week with the upcoming conference, more presentations and appointments… and preparing for exams.
Bran is becoming the new diwei. He has not gone home for 3 days and has been obsessed with computer games, to the extent of missing BikeAsia to play comp games. -_-….

Another to-do in June:

Tomorrow is Monday
Super accomplished weekend =)
I ponteng-ed half of yesterday's revision class because I could not understand vot ze Frenchie iz zaying and I couldn't concentrate. I left 3 hours into the lesson.
I woke up at 7.30 this morning, did all my ironing and listened to the French lecturer attentively for 6 hours today. I can't believe I willed myself to do that! And I managed to finish all my weekend chores, so it was a productive weekend.
June is going to be exciting because:
- Break! We don't have term break and the semester break only lasted a week. This break is long overdue. I hope this break lasts a month.
- Annual holiday with Bran. I want to go crazy at amusement parks! The States is out of the question since I'm utilising most of my leave for my exams, even though Ben keeps urging me to "go as far as possible" with the staff ticket. Nahh.. that can wait. I will still enjoy many staff tickets, I hope.. So the next best alternative is Gold Coast! Bran keeps hyping it up and I can't wait to take the Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster!! I went for my first holiday with my family to Gold Coast some 14 years ago, and I can still remember how much I enjoyed myself then. I want to pack my bags already!
BUT
the holiday is only possible if Bran is not enlisted yet.
- Will the Sims 3 be out by June?
Tomorrow is Monday

Grandma's secret spot remover
Bran has been at my place for 2 days already. Usually he just laze around, read Time magazine, fiddle with my NDSL, watch tv, try to catch the bunnies but now, he has found a new addiction. "Day of Defeat". He has been at it for 8 hours and counting.
bran: tung, you know on your tv, 0 is for CNA and 2 is for Channel 5? Nowadays when I am at home I keep getting the wrong channels.
tung: oh..that means you have to come to my place to watch tv..
bran: no~ i just re-programme my tv loh!
i feel so bimbotic around bran.

Guangzhou + Hong Kong Trip
Alan's failed attempt at tea pouring
hahaha! Everyone's trying to avoid being scalded by the hot water
spattering from Alan's teapot
then dessert at a private and very swanky room. The standalone room is situated
by the pond and garden of Shangri-La. We were not aware that we had to go outdoors
to get to this room and we were all underdressed! brrrr...
We were treated to another round of laughter and drinks at the Thai Bar after dessert.
Shangri-La was a very generous host. Besides the galore of good food, they did
everything within their means to ensure we're comfortable and relaxed during the trip.
